*** Before Email, there was V-mail ***

A hybrid mail process used by U.S. Soldiers during World War II

While reading through out archive of 80 V-Mails sent by the Saucon Valley Defenders throughout WWII, we thought it would be appropriate to highlight the Defenders Committee's origin and to point out the committee’s joint effort to adopt the name Saucon Valley Defenders, rather than using Hellertown and Lower Saucon individually. This joint effort strengthened the ties and friendships among our service members from Hellertown High School, which served both Hellertown and Lower Saucon.

Please take the time to read the V-mails in this Blog and enjoy the information in this post highlighting the hometown men and women who founded the Saucon Valley Defenders Committee.
